Is a Reptile a Good Pet for You?
Before you get a reptile pet, think about these questions:
Be honest with your answers!
How big will it get when fully grown?
How long is it likely to live?
Who will take care of it if I leave to go to college or move away for work?
What special needs (such as lots of places to climb and stretch out, misting, some direct sunlight, dark crawly spaces, warmth, foods) will my reptile pet have?
How much time will I spend feeding and bonding with my pet (yes, even reptiles need love!)
Who else in my house can I count on to help with it sometimes?
Have I read several (not just one!) books, magazines, current online websites, and other material about my reptile pet?
Have I talked to people or groups that raise and keep reptiles?
What do they recommend?
